Finns on display
Here is our President Balazs
Hajdu's Finn on display in a shopping centre in central Budapest.
They have every year a week
when a racing sailboat is exhibited to attract people to sailing. This
year the Finn is on, especially
because of the 60th anniversary.
And here is the Moscow Finn
Association in action at the Moscow International Boat Show

Vasiliy Kravchenko writes:
ITE group has
invited Russian Sailing Federation to make yachts exposition at Moscow
International Boat Show “Spring 2009”.
Moscow Finn
Association was one of the leaders who have organized that exposition at
the exhibition. So Finn class dominated among other classes through whole
event.
1. Common
Association booklet was printed,
http://www.moscow-finnclass.ru/default.aspx?mode=binary&id=62 , where
Finn class was at first place, and Open Russian Championship 2009 was
announced.
2. Modern 2006
Devoti boat was shown at the exposition (the boat which was sailed by Dan
Slater not so long time ago). In addition to that various video clips from
Open Russian Championship 2008 and from Finn Channel, films from Olympic
Games 2004, Gold Cup 2005 were shown across whole event. That videos and
modern racing boat have attracted many people.
3. During the
exhibition we have arranged official Open Ceremony of preparation to Open
Russian Championship in Finn class, devoted to 60th anniversary of Finn
class. Opening ceremony was headed by president of Russian Sailing
Federation. That event has been covered in news channels and business
websites. The news is in the top of top sport news in Russian business
internet-portal
http://sport.rbc.ru/extreme/article/20/04/2009/231103.shtml now.
During that event
the President of Russian Finn Association has awarded Victor Kozlov by
medal for his Silver at Finn World Masters in 2008 (Legend).
4. During the
exhibition we have organized press-conference of sailing associations,
where Moscow Finn Association has presented its activity and Finn class
among others associations.
The exposition has
had very big success. Many visitors were attracted by our booth. We have
received several good contacts. Our materials were drawn by several
magazines, internet-portals and video-channels. Several sailing goods
shops asked us for video materials to show at their shops, so we will have
continues advertising of Finn class through them.
We have met many
yachtsmen who would like to come back to Finn as well as many new sailors
who want to start sailing Finn.
All printed
materials were taken away. Personally I have spent all my Finnfare there.
IFA 2007 Finn calendar, which was not intended to be given to somebody,
has gone away also.
The only excuse is
that it will serve to increase Finn class popularity.
We hope that this
event gave new impact to Finn class in Russia to grow.
Welcome to Open
Russian in September!
