Open Russian National
Championship 2008
Dear friends,
We will organize Open Russian National Championship in Moscow on
September, 14-20. It will be only Finn event.
We have adjusted the schedule in such way that many famous Russian
finnesters such as Victor Potapov, Oleg Khoperskiy, Andrey Balashov could
participate their.
A special prizes program for masters will be held in parallel to the main
championship score.
Participants can get charter boats with masts free of charge under deposit
of 500 Euro only.
We invite sailors from other countries to this event. (We expect fleet
over 50 boats)
I will appreciate if you distribute this invitation among sailors and put
it to the notice desk of your regatta.

 From 23 to 29 of
August the 2006 Finn Russian Championship took place in Moscow. This year
it was really a championship with 31 sailors from 10 regions of Russia
taking part in the event. Among them were four juniors and two
'grand-fathers' of the Moscow Finn-class: Vladimir Kozlov (born in 1932),
pictured right (photo by Masha Novoselova)
and Valentin Danilov (born in 1934).
The revival of Finn-class in Russia
began thanks to 2005 Finn Gold Cup in Moscow, the greatest sailing event
in our country for many years. Moscow Sailing School bought 100 new boats
for this event.
'The Finn-class
is growing very fast now', - says Yury Astashev, Head of Race Committee
for the 2006 Finn Russian Championship. 'In the past there were only 4-5 'heros',
who kept five boats and the traditions of the class alive. Now we have new
modern boats and new and young men taking part.'
