Here is a New Year treat for Finn sailors everywhere. The 2019 Finn Gold Cup in Melbourne delivered fantastic imagery and close competition. The conditions for the medal race were everything every Finn sailor dreams about, big wind, wind waves, sunshine and a huge battle between giants. It was an epic end to an epic year of racing.
The temperature in Melbourne is getting almost as hot as the competition at the Finn Gold Cup, but the lack of wind on the third day meant all racing was cancelled mid-afternoon on Wednesday. Three races are now scheduled for Thursday.

On November 13, the Executive Committee of the International Finn Association decided to appoint Robert Deaves as Class Secretary for the period up to the 2020 IFA AGM in Palma, during the Finn Gold Cup. He will share the class management with Paul McKenzie, who will take on the role of Finance and Membership Secretariat.
