7. Submissions

The following changes to Class Rules have been proposed by the Chairman of the Technical Committee.

Proposal 1 - Prohibiting use of Roller and Ball Bearings

INSERT NEW RULE

C.7.3 (b)   The use of roller and ball bearings is prohibited in the mast ring, mast foot, deck ring and mast step fittings.

Current rules C.7.3 (b) (c) (d) and (e) to be renumbered at (c) (d) (e) and (f).

Reason: To avoid unnecessary development of systems or fittings to the current fleet of boats.

 

Proposal 2 - Hiking pads

CURRENT RULE

C 7.3 (c)   Hiking pads, attached to but removable from the hull are permitted. They shall extend not more than 10 mm outboard of the vertical plane of the gunwale rubbing strake.

AMEND TO READ

C 7.3 (d)   Hiking pads, attached to but removable from the hull are permitted. They shall extend not more than 10 mm outboard of the vertical plane of the gunwale rubbing strake, or 10 mm inboard of the vertical plane of the built in tanks.

Reason: To avoid unnecessary development of systems or fittings to the current fleet of boats.
