The first event of the inaugural WTF Grand Slam took place in Palamos, Spain from 17-19 April, kicking off an exciting new chapter for the class.
 
The Grand Slam Leg 1, the Mediterranean Finn Cup, didn’t start easy: day one brought no wind and plenty of patience on shore. But sailing always finds a way to reward perseverance. Valerian Lebrun took the early lead in the light conditions, though did not win a race. They went to Simon Bovay, Laurent Hay and Paul McKenzie.
 
By the final day, conditions delivered, with three races sailed in a steady 15 knots, offering a spectacular close to the regatta and a proper test for the fleet. Lebrun took three more bullets to secure the titl; from Hay and McKenzie

With the first points now on the board, the Grand Slam moves on to its second stop: the Italian National Championship in Cannigione, from May 30 to June 1.
 
The WTF Grand Slam 2026 is a European-focused circuit launched for 20256, featuring nine events across eight nations from April to October. With the best four results counting toward the overall ranking, the series will ultimately lead into the grand finale at the 2027 Finn Gold Cup 2027.
