Due to lack of support for the 2022 Open and U23 European Championship in Kiel, the event has been cancelled by Kiel Yacht Club.

The following letter has been sent to all those who did enter.

 

Dear Finn sailors,

Unfortunately the minimum numbers of entries for the Finn European Championship 2023 in Kiel was not reached by yesterday, 24 July.

Due to the low numbers of entries we added this deadline as an amendment to the Notice of Race on 1 July. As an addition, we extended the normal entry fee to this date.

Despite intensified advertising by the IFA, the German class association and Kiel Yacht Club we only reached the number of 25 paid (and 9 unpaid) entries.

For this reason and in conjunction with IFA, we are sad to announce the cancellation of the Finn European Championship 2022.

We would have been very happy to welcome you to Kiel and to run the European Championship and the 50 years Olympic celebration for you. However, with this low number of entries, this would not have been the event you and we had worked for.
