To coincide with the start of the 2018 European sailing season, the Finn Class is pleased to announce the beginnings of an environmental and sustainability agenda that could impact on its events and sailors, and guide the class’s own event strategy, in future years.
The Finn – THE classic power dinghy – was designed to test the best individual sailor at the Olympic Games. This thoroughly modern, but endearingly classic dinghy has been successfully doing that through 17 Olympics and is heading towards its 18th in Tokyo 2020.
Luksa Cicarelli, a legend in the Finn class and Labud YC in Split, died today after a practice session in his Finn while preparing for the 2018 Finn World Masters in El Bális, Spain, in May. He was 71.
Ahmad Ahmadi has a dream to sail at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo in the Finn Class. He is the only international sailor in Iran and would be the first Iranian sailor at the Olympics if he should qualify.
