After an epic final Finn medal race, Giles Scott has won the gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Hungary’s Zsombor Berecz won the medal race to secure the silver while Spain’s Joan Cardona did just enough to hang on to the bronze. Scott takes control in Enoshima while Cardona moves up

Giles Scott made it four race wins in a row to move into the overall lead after two more confident victories on Thursday, the third day of the Finn competition at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Spain’s Joan Cardona also moved up to second, after a 2,3 to leave them with a one point separation going into Friday’s rest day. Zsombor Berecz, from Hungary, drops one place to third after a 6,7 and is now seven points behind Cardona. The fleet returns to Sagami Bay on Saturday.

Finns keep it tight into final medal race showdown at Tokyo 2020

Six sailors will go into the Finn medal race at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games on Tuesday with a shot at a medal after the final day of the opening series on Sunday. The race wins went to Giles Scott, who led Race 9 from start to finish, while New Zealand’s Josh Junior won the final race after sniffing out a shift on the left and taking the lead on the second upwind.

TOKYO 2020 OLYMPIC GAMES – DAY 2

Giles Scott, the British defending Olympic champion from Britain, won both races on the second day of competition at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, following a lacklustre performance on the opening day left him in ninth place. The top three overall remain the same, with Turkey’s Alican Kaynar still leading from Hungary’s Zsombor Berecz and Spain’s Joan Cardona.

Junior wins the day while Scott extends on fickle day in Sagami Bay

TOKYO 2020 OLYMPIC GAMES – FINNS DAY 4

Double America’s Cup winner and 2019 Finn World Champion, Josh Junior, from New Zealand, made the best out of the extremely fickle fourth day for Finns at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. While this moves him within reach of the medals for the first time, the top three remain the same. Giles Scott extends his leads to six points, from Spain’s Joan Cardona and Hungary’s Zsombor Berecz.

Perfect start for Alican Kaynar as Finns begin racing at Tokyo 2020

Turkey’s Alican Kaynar made a perfect start to his third Olympic Games with two bullets on one of the most difficult course areas in Enoshima. Hungary’s Zsombor Berecz picked up two second places while Spain’s Joan Cardona ended with two third places, after leading the final race all the way until the final downwind. With two very different races, it was a difficult start to what will be a long regatta.
