The Class Rules of the International Finn Class are managed by a Technical Committee.

The current Chairman is Richard Hart (see contact details)

The Technical Committee consists of experienced people from all over the world. List?

 

Class Rules
The clas rules are administered by ISAF under guidance from the IFA. Rule changes are presented to the IFA AGM for voting by National Representatves before being approved and passed into the Class Rules by ISAF. The Finn Class Rules are no longer produced in printed format. To obtain a copy free of charge, download the most recent version from the ISAF website. See the download page for relavant links.

Measurement
Each Finn must have a valid measurement certificate before it is eligible to race. Most Finns will come fully measured from the builder. If you need a Finn measurerd or checked please contact one of the approved IFA Measurers. See List

Measurement form
The measurer will complete your measurement form, which should be presented to the inspecting authority when requested at events.

Finn format trials survey: The pros and cons

Following requests to trial a ‘first across the line’ race format, the Finn class carried out trials at two events early in 2017 – the Trofeo Princesa Sofia in Palma and the European Championship in Marseille. Both were designed around a winner-takes-all final race where the first boat across the line was the winner. As expected, both events produced a lot of feedback, good and bad, and after the Europeans the Finn Class organised an online survey to assess the success or otherwise of the trials and gather further feedback.
