Championships

Each year the Finn class organises four major championships:

Finn Gold Cup - the world championship, first sailed for in 1956

Silver Cup - the Junior world championship (sometimes held in conjunction with the Finn Gold Cup)

European Championship

Junior European Championship - (usually held in conjunction with the European Championship, but for amny years an independent event)

The Finn World Masters is also organised annually. The Masters have their own website.

 

Other events

Every four years snce 1952 the Finn has been used in the Olympic Games. Initially it was the 'Monotype' class, then it was the men's singlehander and currently it is the 'Heavyweight Dinghy'

ISAF Sailing World Cup - A series of four events (Melbourne, Miami, Palma, Hyeres)

In addition there are regional championships such as the Nordics, North American Championship, South American Championship. Member nations also organise National Championships and there are also many other popular regattas worldwide throughout the course of the year.
