The 2023 Finn Silver Cup is being held on Lake Como at Gravedona, hosted by the Centro Vela Alto Lario.

Racing started on Tuesday 18 June after the 11 AM skippers meeting.

Despite the heat wave now in Europe, there were two races in 8-14 knots.

Starting with light wind it built to Oscar conditions by the end. The third race abandoned due to an approaching storm.

In the first race, Oscar was displayed at the end of the first round. The USA’s James Golden, who placed sixth in the Finn Gold Cup in Miami earlier this year, took the first race from Sjoerd Hofland, from The Netherlands and Bence Rácz from Hungary.

Rácz led the second race from early on and went on to win from Finland’s Joonas Harju and Hofland.

There were no more races because the wind was killed by the incoming thunderstorm.

After two races Rácz leads from Golden and Hofland

Racing continues at 13.00 on Wednesday and continues through to Saturday.
